My passion has always been for the Earth and children even when I was a young child myself I would clean the beaches and parks and growing up in Massachusetts there was not a lot of awareness. I decided to go to college and study marine biology and oceanography again I was not encouraged and heard statements like who is going to pay you the trees? While I was in college I learned about how our actions were hurting the planet. I chose to move to California and volunteered to organization dedicated to help educate the youth about the environment. I worked at a science camp and also a non-profit organization called Peace Resource Center. At the camp I found many children who cared as much as I did and asked lots of questions I wanted to make learning fun and created a game www.letssaveourearth.com The Peace Resource Center taught volunteers to go into public schools and teach children about the environment I was a volunteer until they had to close their doors because the organization had no funding. I knew what they were doing was very valuable and started my own non-profit organization. That was ten years ago and at that time my daughter was in public school and there was no environmental education, so I began volunteering in the schools to teach and donating my board games to leave as a seed. I organized the first Earth Day Celebration and this April will be our 10th anniversary. I work diligently daily at helping to educate because I believe with all my heart that environmental education and teaching self esteem are the missing links in our world. My game accomplishes teaching children and everyone that simple things they do everyday make a difference it empowers children to believe in themselves and small acts done with great love will change the world. Please help us make California the first state to have environmental education mandatory we are so close to that happening please write congress, state,and local officials.
